Patapsco Valley State Park - Orienteering

Orienteering is a vital skill for Adventure Racing. We will be doing a beginners course at the Hilton Area of Patapsco Valley State Park in Catonsville MD. This course can be completed by staying on trail and without using a compass. Using a compass and going off trail can save you time. Maps will be provided as well as basic orienteering instruction. (No compasses will be available to loan).
All Ages welcome.
This event is free however there is a charge to enter the park ($3 residents/ $5 non-residents)
From I-695 (Baltimore Beltway), take Exit 13, Frederick Road west. Follow for two miles and turn left on South Rolling Road. At first intersection, bear right in Hilton Avenue. Continue 1.5 miles and turn right into the park.
From I-95, take Exit 47 (keep left on exit ramp), heading north (Route 166) to South Rolling Road. Follow 1.8 miles and make a sharp left on Hilton Avenue. Continue 1.5 miles and turn right into the park.
Once you pay at the ranger booth go to your right, then make your first right turn and you will see us in the parking lot under the power lines.
